Collection: Alan Davie

The Ochre Fox is proud to present a selection of original works by Alan Davie (1920–2014), one of Britain’s most important post-war artists. Closely associated with Abstract Expressionism and admired internationally, Davie’s work bridges painting, drawing, music, philosophy, and symbolism. His practice was deeply influenced by jazz, Zen Buddhism, and Jungian psychology, resulting in imagery that feels both spontaneous and richly encoded with personal mythologies. The works presented here are original drawings and works on paper from Davie’s later period, offering an intimate view into the continued vitality of his mark-making and symbolic language. Even in later years, Davie’s work retained its playful intensity, dense visual rhythms, and distinctive graphic energy
